How is durability calculated?

Each object is split into shards using Reed-Solomon erasure coding, written across separate failure domains. We design for and measure 11 nines (99.999999999 %) — same as S3 Standard.

What does "free intra-region" actually mean?

A VM in us-east-1 reading from a bucket in us-east-1 pays $0. Same for managed Postgres → object, Kubernetes → object, etc. Only public-internet bytes are billed.

Can I use Object Lock for compliance?

Yes. Both governance and compliance modes. Pre-signed for HIPAA, SOC 2, GDPR. We can sign attestations as part of enterprise onboarding.

What about lifecycle to cold?

Set a rule: "after 90 days, transition to Cold; after 365 days, delete". Saves about 75 % on long-lived data. Transition is free; restore from Cold has the standard retrieval fee.

Can I bring my own keys?

Yes — KMS-compatible. NimbusNexus KMS or your existing AWS / GCP KMS via federation. Per-bucket and per-object key scoping.
